And it starts...

Music has always given me a feeling of purpose. I need it in my life to survive. Without it, I am nothing. With it, I am unstoppable.

I have been singing since I was in diapers, and it wasn't until a few years ago that I decided to make a career out of it. I did the band thing. It was a great experience, but not for me. So now I am on my own. I am the only one who controls my successes and failures.

So what's holding me back? Myself...

Over the last few years, I have been networking like crazy. I have been fortunate enough to make amazing connections in the music and design industries, and even better friends. 

So now what do I do? Well I get off my butt and do SOMETHING!!! I have 50+ song lyrics and melodies to work with, so its not like I am working from scratch. Once I can figure out what chords they are in, I can ask some of my musician friends for help. Knowing how busy they all are working on their own music and other projects, I have decided to do as much as I can on my own. 

Thanks to family and friends, I have obtained a nice keyboard, a guitar (on loan), Adobe CS5 Master Collection software and a sparkling new 15" MacBook Pro. Garage Band here I come! Hey, its a start! I'll try Logic and Pro Tools once I get a handle on GB.

I am starting guitar lessons from one of my former customers, whose husband makes beautiful custom guitars. He will totally be making me a pink guitar!

I was able to get a few other things up and running. I have my pages on Facebook, MySpace, Reverb Nation up and running. Most importantly, I have obtained www.jannaloss.com and can't wait until I have the time and skill (almost there) to make it freakin' awesome! I just started an Illustrator Class at the School of Visual Concepts and Adobe is all coming back to me! :) Busy Bee!
